“The revised regulations adopting the 2018 ICC Code series as reviewed and amended by the Review and Advisory Council (RAC) have an effective date of February 14, 2022. Please see the below posting from the PA L and I website regarding this code change. Any application submitted after Augwill automatically be reviewed under the 2018 ICC Code. If documentation is provided the application will be reviewed under the previously adopted 2015 ICC Code. All applications received after Februare governed by the 2018 ICC Codes unless documentation is provided in the form of a signed contract dated prior to February 14, 2022. The State of Pennsylvania has adopted the 2018 ICC Code effective February 14, 2022. State of Pennsylvania has Adopted the 2018 ICC Code Prior to making final payments a Certificate of Occupancy should be in your possession or presented to you by your contractor at the time of final payment. The final inspection must be completed and approved in order to issue the Certificate of Occupancy. To assure that the project is code compliant the resident should require their contractor to be present at all inspections and most importantly the final inspection. The contract is binding until all required inspections are completed. A construction permit is a legally binding contract with the Township of Franklin.
